PRLog (Press Release)Jun 08, 2010 – NEWBURYPORT AND PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS AND WAITSFIELD, VERMONT…
The Concord, Mass. resident took over the publishing of the two maps for Anne Monti, effective March 29, 2010.

Resort Maps are colorful, hand-drawn maps of towns and cities, distributed free to area visitors at travel information and rest areas as well at advertiser locations. The Best of Plymouth and Best of Newburyport maps highlight local attractions and things to do, restaurants, accommodations, retail shops, real estate and other services in the two towns. Each advertiser on the map is represented with a display ad surrounding the perimeter of the map, including a color-coded grid locator and their actual building hand-drawn, highlighted and labeled, making it easy to locate.

"Resort Maps offers a good product and has a long history of satisfied customers," said Grace. "I feel very fortunate to have come across this opportunity and am looking forward to continuing the success of both maps."

In addition to the printed map, Resort Maps can also be found on-line at www.resortmaps.com. Here you will find interactive maps of all 98 map areas to choose from. These interactive maps allow the viewer to see the business's advertisement and read a description of each business as they scroll over their building and to connect to the website of the business for further information.

A born entrepreneur who holds an MBA from Boston College, Grace also owns a Cookies by Design franchise, located in Woburn, Massachusetts in the Cummings Office Park. Prior to that, he owned a property management company in Colorado as well two other small businesses.

Married, he and his wife Robin live in Concord, Massachusetts with their two children.

Businesses interested in advertising in the next edition of either the Plymouth or Newburyport can call 781-439-4037 or send an e-mail to billg@resortmaps.com.
Resort Maps began creating and publishing maps in the northeastern U.S. back in 1986. In an effort to continue the company's growth and simultaneously maintain the quality of the product, Resort Maps became a franchisor in 1993. Since adopting the franchise model, Resort Maps has grown steadily to more than 98 maps distributed across 20 states as well as towns and cities in England, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico.

"We publish 20 million maps per year in nearly 100 cities and towns for a good reason. Our maps are fun, easy-to-read and they really do entice visitors to stop and see some of the local attractions before heading to the next part of your trip. Our advertisers like the maps for that very same reason," said Peter Hans, president of Resort Maps.

Today, that network of franchises has grown to 98 Resort Maps in publication in the US and the UK, with several more in the process of being published. 20 million Resort Maps will be printed and distributed in 2010.

constructionmap.jpgView full sizeOK, by now, we know the Interstate 205 bridge project is pretty much the spawn of an evil plot to convince us that we need another six lanes stretching into Washington (See: Columbia River Crossing).

Now, something to completely blow your mind out in a car: That's just one of 22 summer state road construction projects planned for the Portland area this summer.

Certainly, not all of the projects on the list are as ambitious as replacing monstrous 28-year-old bridge joints on the Glenn Jackson Bridge. Indeed, several are as tame as the traffic signal upgrade on Oregon 43 at Greenwood Road in Multnomah County or the addition of a turning lane to Oregon 99W in Tigard.

But there are still a few potential sanity crushers on the schedule. Case in point, the replacement of the Interstate 84 bridges over the Sandy River east of Troutdale. That one will bring lane and ramp closure over the next three months.

On Southeast Powell Boulevard, meanwhile, crews are in the middle of repaving 2.3 miles from 51st Avenue to I-205, adding crosswalks and improving 175 sidewalk ramps along the way.

Here's the Oregon Department of Transportation's complete guide and to all 22 Portland area road projects.

Statewide, the ODOT is starting the most ambitious road-project season in state history, funded with $2.96 billion from Oregon Transportation Investment Act and $410 in federal stimulus.

Here's a complete guide and map of the 162 road projects slated from Lincoln City to Ontario.

As usual, be careful when driving through work zone, expect traffic jams and try to remember to use ODOT's TripCheck.com (now with Twitter updates) before elevating home.

With Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice's Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Jenna Bans coming together, this medical drama from ABC is bound to turn heads and induce tears. On Off the Map, the network brings audiences this uplifting series focusing on three doctors working and stranded in the South American jungle.

In the small town of "la ciudad de las estrellas" or the city of stars, there is a medical clinic in need of supplies and professional help. It was almost impossible to find doctors willing to trek so far for a job, but the young and idealistic Lily Brenner (Caroline Dhavernas) seems made for it.

Joining her are fellow physicians Mina Minard (Mamie Gummer) and Manny Diaz (Enrique Murciano), who are hoping for another means of escape just like her. All three of them are running from their old lives and hope that the wild can offer some sense of comfort.

As newcomers though, the pressure is on and problems arise on every corner. Aside from their emotional baggage, they have to deal with that of others as well. Legendary doctor and the clinic's founder Ben Keeton (Martin Henderson) rounds up the crew.

But while he can provide some semblance of leadership, he has his own troubles as well. Keeton was once the youngest Chief of Surgery at UCLA until he decided to walk out of it and start a new life in South America. He even took along his right-hand man Otis Cole (Jason George), in the hopes of training these new doctors and saving even more lives.

The team has to face a challenge everyday, given the environment they're in. But soon they'll realize how being so far away brings them back to where they started, as doctors.

They'll need all the help they can get too. Valerie Cruz plays Zita (Zee) and Jose Julian portrays Charlie, their guides to and friends in the Amazon. Catch the video for Off the Map below.

Don't miss Off the Map as it premieres this fall on ABC.
