Your Black Friday 2010 Guide - YAHOO!

Posted: 19 Nov 2010 10:10 AM PST

For those serious holiday shoppers Black Friday 2010 is around the bend as it comes as no surprise that Black Friday deems the busiest time for great deals, awesome steals and bargains like never before. But are you prepared? With this strategic Black Friday game plan you are one step closer to your successful Black Friday goals.

Map out a plan. This is where the blueprints are created. Master a plan, based on Black Friday sale ads, from beginning to end. Early bird specials are the best deals of the season so timing is everything depending upon what store opens up first. Once you have a list of stores, and which one to hit first to last including a brunch in between, write it down and map it out - with a map. Also, it is wise to use a GPS if needed.

Gathering coupons. Cut or print out all coupons that appeal to your shopping needs. Be cautious of Black Friday ads that share detailed information without a coupon. You could call a local store to assure of the offer's authenticity. After gathering coupons stick them inside of your purse.

Support has arrived and the more, the merrier. Collect a couple of good shopping buddies to take the Black Friday journey of incredible markdowns and price slashers. Once you know how many are going, plan accordingly.

Good music, beverages and snacks, don't leave home without them. Grab a good CD, couple of them, and either bring a full cooler or stop by a convenient store on the way to department stores. Another good idea is to simply take some coffee in a travel mug. These are some of the things that gives a shopping trip flavor.

Warm jacket, gloves and hat may be required during the a.m. hours of Black Friday, when the stores open up for business. Most of the time, even in the southern states, Black Friday can be a frigidly fierce beginning to the holiday season.

Luggage of a purse to pack away that jacket, gloves and hat is not such a bad idea. Instead of lugging around your jacket, gloves or hat to each store simply tuck them away inside of your purse and continue with that Black Friday shopping. Use a purse that they would fit into. You may not regret it.

Trunk space is a must if you plan on packing the purchases inside of the trunk. Clean out the trunk of the car. While you are at it you might as well clean out the front and back seat too. Make sure that there is plenty of foot room. Every inch counts on Black Friday.

Wearing comfortable shoes matters on Black Friday. Whether sneakers, loafers, flats or heels, anything that can avoid blisters is your best bet. It is perfectly fine to wear dressy shoes, as long as they offer proper support for the make of each foot.

Take cell phones, talk radios or anything you can use for communication. Talkies can be used inside of shopping locations for one shopper to communicate with another. Cell phones are handy if you need to contact someone whether sale related or not. Plus, it is good to have a cell phone in case of emergency.

Medication, whether prescription or over the counter, should never be left behind. For instance, if you need an inhaler at times, don't forget to put an inhaler inside of your purse. Or if you end up with a headache and may need an over the counter headache reliever. Make sure that is accessible as well.

These 10 things to do when preparing for Black Friday can assist in making it one of the best shopping days of the year. So, eat plenty of turkey on Thanksgiving Day, get plenty of sleep on Thanksgiving night to wake up in the dark to take on each store, as planned.
