Ellensburg Downtown Association to put out visitor's guide - msnbc.com

ELLENSBURG, Wash- The Ellensburg Downtown Association wants to raise awareness about downtown businesses.  They're working on a map would highlight the stores, hotels, and restaurants in town.  The executive director says they want to bring in not just locals, and students, but also people passing through on their way to or from the Westside.

"And also people stopping at the interstate maybe they stop to get gas and they want an interesting place to buy a gift and eat at a local restaurant, they would have that available to them", says Carolyn Honeycutt, executive director of the Ellensburg Downtown Association.

Honeycutt says the Downtown Association is still trying to attract more businesses.  In particular she'd like to see crafts, athletic and more clothing stores.  The downtown map is scheduled to be ready by the beginning of March.
